Online dashboard for water accounting for Volta Basin
The objective of this program is to obtain improved data for policy dialogue about basic water accounting at the transboundary basin scale for the Volta Basin Authority. Water accounting is one of the essential tools for improved and informed management of water resources at basin level in Africa, where 90% of water is collected by 63 international river basins. IWMI will be responsible for developing an open-access dashboard with different access levels for users based on standard water accounting methodology leveraging continental-scale data available. This will be done via AWS/Digital Earth Africa and the Africa Geoportal. Additionally, the project will provide customized training programs for transboundary river basin organizations.
