Capacity building of on-farm water management
This capacity building program under the Balochistan Integrated Water Resources Management and Development (BIWRMD) Project has been designed to strengthen the provincial Government’s capacity for water resources monitoring and management and improve community-based water management for targeted irrigation schemes in Balochistan. IWMI is responsible for delivery of training programs that focus on the technical cadre of the department. This will include study tours to government-owned research farms as well as exposure visits to progressive farmers’ farms and orchards. The programs will also include trainings of farming communities through establishment of demonstration plots and running Farmers’ Field Schools (FFS) in three clusters, which will focus mainly on practical, hands-on activities and peer to peer learning.
