Researcher - Hydrology and Water Resources Management


Dipak brings expertise from an illustrious career in the field of Hydrology and Water Resources Management. He holds a MTech and PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He was honored as an Australian Endeavour fellow in 2018, having conducted research at the University of Southern Queensland, QLD as a post-doctoral fellow. Throughout his professional journey, Dipak has actively participated in numerous multidisciplinary projects where he assumed leadership roles in various modelling groups. Notably, he played a pivotal role in the National Mission on Sustaining Himalayan Ecosystem Task Force 6 and made significant contributions to the National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture initiative of ICAR. During his ICAR journey he associated with CSIRO-SAC APSIM CROP modeling initiatives in South Asia and the DST-BMWF project with BOKU, Vienna, Austria. His contributions earned him recognition in the form of awards, fellowships, and his role as a contributing author to the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). Dipak was actively engaged in teaching, research, and extension activities at the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, where he demonstrated his unwavering commitment to knowledge sharing, capacity building, and the advancement of climate-smart agriculture.
