Darshan Karki
Researcher - Social Scientist
Darshan is a researcher, writer, and editor with an interdisciplinary background encompassing geography, development studies, economics, and journalism. Prior to her current position at IWMI, she worked as a research consultant at the Centre for Social Change and a Research Scientist for Knowledge for Climate, a network for collaborative research between the University of Zurich and six universities in Latin America and South Asia. Additionally, she held the position of Opinions Editor at The Kathmandu Post and has worked in various capacities at Interdisciplinary Analysts, Centre for the Study of Labour and Mobility, and South Asian Watch on Trade, Economics, and Environment. Darshan has a PhD in Geography from the University of Zurich, Switzerland. She also holds master’s degrees in Rural Development from Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and in Development Economics from the South Asian University, India.
