According to IWMI, cocoa farmers in Ghana are interested in solar-powered irrigation pumps as a climate-smart solution to counter the impacts of climate change on cocoa production. However, high costs and limited access to credit hinder their ability to invest. Research found that factors like income, education, access to credit, and age of cocoa trees influence farmers’ willingness and ability to invest in SPIPs.
